The Avengers 2012 Quick Review

It's been AGES since I've actually posted anything here.. Which is quite sad, I don't know why it turned out the way it did :(

Anyways,

Quick review of the Avengers of those who still haven't watched it. It's a beastly 5/5!!! Do go and watch it! I'd love to see it in 3D as I saw lots of scenes which would seem to work well with the 3D effects.

If you like super hero movies, you'd LOVE this. It takes the essence and feeling of watching or reading superhero shows and comics and turns it into a 2 and a half hour of bliss!

While I do admit the beginning wasn't the strongest of starts, after the title, it just skyrockets. I absolutely love the humour in the movie. Wait. What? You thought I said it was a superhero movie and not a comedy? I DID say it was a superhero movie. But the humour in it comes at odd times and strangely fits perfectly. Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man is simply brilliant; he brings out the arrogance of Tony Stark in making blunt remarks.

If you're sceptical about the movie because of all the hype it's been getting, then I suggest you go in with an open mind, don't expect it to be epic and you won't be disappointed, I assure you.

Highly recommended movie and a blockbuster for sure. It won't disappoint!

Captain America Movie Quick Review

Hey guys!

Reeeeaaaaaaaaaaaallly sorry for the lack of updates. Been busy with going to Nottingham, dissertation, and lazing about playing games (though the last bit is the most done)

I actually marathoned Captain America and Harry Potter 7 Part 2 on the same day which was........ maybe more than a week ago. Probably shouldn't have been lazy with my posts haha :/

Anyways Captain America centers on... well, Captain Stars and Stripes himself! It begins with a scrawny young man with a patriotic heart as well as massive amounts of courage. He got selected by a special branch of the army aiming to create super soldiers but alas, he was the only one the US produced during World War 2. The main baddies in the movie is called Hydra, a special research branch of Hitler's which turned on the Nazis after it amassed a big enough army and supporters.

The casts were pretty good. I though Chris Evans was a pretty good fit to be Steve Rogers aka Cap. He's also the guy who stars as the Human Torch in the old Fantastic Four movies as pointed out by Shin's bro. Hayley Atwell plays Rogers' love interest, Peggy Carter. And Men In Black's Tommy Lee Jones plays Colonel Chester Philips.

In short, the movie's well worth your money if you're into the Marvel universe. The 3D effects are stunning and I was pleasantly surprised by one of the shield throw scenes which flew out of the screen lol (never expected that in these new IMAX stuff) Really loved the action scenes, it felt really fulfilling seeing them fight the baddies, more so in this particular movie I don't know why. The special effects were done well but not over done (considering it is a super hero movie) The humour from the characters are sarcastic and tongue-in-cheek; just my kind of comedy :P

All in all I give it a 4.5/5 just because I enjoy superhero movies. I do recommend it but if you're not really into superheroes, I don't know if this will change your mind :/

P.S. Oh yes, like all Marvel movies, stay til after the ending, this time it's a real treat :D

Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon Quick Review

Hey guys!

Been a while, sorry for the lack of updates as I've been wasting away day by day without much progress on my dissertation...

A few days ago, I went to watch Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon with Shin's bro. It was 3D and overall it isn't bad. The story is still as flimsy as a piece of cling film like previous movies but that's not really what we want to see, right? What we want to see is cars and appliances that can transform into robots and beat the crap out of each other. And in that respect, the movie doesn't disappoint.

Actors from the earlier movies come back to do TF3. I was disappointed at Shia LaBeouf's role as emo kid Sam Witwicky. Seriously, it was painful to watch his performance. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as Megan Fox's replacement as leading female role was some what  alright I guess... Shin did tell me she's hot from top down but not the face and I am convinced now LOL. Was funny how one of the lines in the beginning was on how the little autobots didn't like Megan xD

As I said story is not that hot. But action sort of makes up for it. It feels as if they're trying to make up for the crappy story with senseless explosions and violence.

All in all it's an alright movie... I give TF3 a 3/5... But then I wasn't able to enjoy the movie as I would've liked.

WARNING! RAGE! WARNING! RAGE!
So like while we were watching from the beginning trailers, there was this group of 4 black teenage girls that kept making as much noise as possible from talking loudly to playing with their phones to laughing like a freaking monster. Some people shushed them and they shushed back. I was appalled at the lack of respect and full-on rudeness of these kids. Many a time, I wanted to either smack them over the head or ask for my money back but I did neither...

Worst part is even when we moved towards the back seats, one of those little b**ches shone her phone torchlight towards the back. I was and still am distressed by the actions of those damn animals. I keep wondering to myself recently is it because the stereotyping is true, or they are just undereducated by their parents or are they are acting this way because their parents weren't there so they wanted to abuse this freedom. Regardless, I try to believe whole heartedly that it is the last case. These little mongrels should learn some respect otherwise they will learn the hard way that there are people that are very much less tolerant...

X-Men First Class Movie Review

A few days ago I went to watch X-Men First Class with my sis. It is one of the more anticipated movies for me apart from Green Lantern and Captain America :D

Anyway, in short:

• Great movie.
• No blood whatsoever but there is violence hence the 12A rating.
• Great action scenes.
• Story's pretty good but a little rushed at parts.
• Bring the kids. (with guidance)

Long version:
X-Men First Class is set as a prequel long before the previous X-Men movies. It follows the story of the young Professor X and Magneto before they came to be as we know them. Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto) is vengeful and seeks to kill the person responsible for his tormented past at the hands of Nazis while Charles Xavier (Prof. X) is fascinated (or more like obsessed) by mutations in humans. However, there is a common enemy for the both of them: a fanatical mutant called Sebastian Shaw who wants to start World War 3 by forcing the United States and the Russians into a nuclear stand-off. How do they have common links to this person? Go watch it to find out :P

First off, the actors in the movie (to me at least) are unrecognisable though some are but I can't put my finger on it. Charles Xavier is played by James McAvoy who I found to have played the lead role in Wanted (with Angelina Jolie) as well as Mr Tumnus in The Chronicles of Narnia. Erik Lehnsherr is played by Michael Fassbender who quoting my sis is a "beautiful man". :S Sebastian Shaw is played by Kevin Bacon and he looks really familiar to me but I can't put my finger on it (I thought he looked a bit like Jim Carrey at first glance lololol) The others are even less significant though I shall tell you there is one or two cameos which was pretty cool and also amusing. :P

Though the cast are not that well known (again, to me at least) I must say their acting is pretty believable for the most part. Michael Fassbender's role as Magneto is my favourite in the movie by far as he plays the frosty cool anti-hero who, like most of us, has his own demons to fight and his own ideals. However! I did not like the rushed scene where the stereotypic "token black guy" is the stereotypic "first one to die". :< That was a very if not the most disappointing part for me in the movie.

Storyline is pretty solid that doesn't tend to confuse you though there may be parts that might've been rushed a bit especially near the end. Graphically, the special effects are great as the mutant powers are visualised in such a way that it wows you but not to the point of making you think they're over the top. There is humour in the movie that is well-played in a way that it doesn't get in the way of the scene at hand, like a good chuckle and then back to business. I thought that was a pretty good strategy.

There are violence and fight scenes which basically people go for as that's when they show off their powers however I noticed there was no blood whatsoever in the casualties. It was as if their weapons and objects and such are super-fluid(blood)proof; there is literally little to no trace of blood on them. That is probably to make it more child friendly as it IS a superhero movie targeting towards the younger audience and man-children and not a gore fest but it might alienate a bit of realism from their world.

All in all First Class gets a first class 4.5/5 from me as I really enjoyed the movie and it was probably on par to the Wolverine movie from a while ago. I really do recommend this movie if you like superhero movies, if not, have a gander when you are out with some friends and have nothing to do.

One of my favourite lines in the movie is "...and this is why women should not work in the CIA" but you'll only see the humour if you saw the scene :P

P/S: Don't bother staying until after the credits. It'll only disappoint you LOL

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (Movie) Review

The other day Shin and I went to watch POTC4 but I haven't had the mood to write about it til now ha. On a side note, Shin is on her way back to Brunei :( Ronery...

Anyways!

In short!
Not too bad
Worth a watch
Jack Sparrow's humour is well played
Plot is linear but not necessarily a good thing.
Pirates!

Long story:
POTC4 continues with Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow without Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightley. Instead they introduced some new and old characters, Penelope Cruz as Angelica; Jack's old heartthrob of sorts, Ian McShane as Blackbeard and Geoffrey Rush returns as Captain Barbossa.

This time the story revolves around seeking the Fountain of Youth. Like the previous movies you'd likely need to ponder a bit if you get lost in the scenes. I can't really detail the movie, strangely... It feels like a massive cluster-mindrape to think about.

Jack's dad tells him there are prerequisites to access the Fountain of Youth and 2 silver goblets are part of it. As the movie progresses Jack learns more about the ritual and items required, which is ironic as in the beginning they make it sounds as if he was looking for it for ages and yet he knows less than the monkey on the Black Pearl. He is abducted onto Blackbeard's ship where he is forced to lead Blackbeard to the fountain because it was foretold that he would be slain by a man with one leg.

Story-wise, it's not an innovation. Imagine playing a game where you have to do side quests in order to achieve your main objective; that's the feeling I got if you put yourself in Jack Sparrow's shoes. You get what you paid for I guess, there are pirates, in the Caribbean (somehow) and Johnny Depp. The plot is pretty linear because of that but there is a stupid thing or two in the movie which defy common sense. E.g. Jack knocks off the hat of a guard and he chases him, leaving his guns on top of a surface of some sort. Jack goes back and takes the guns. I know, wtf right?

The acting was well done though, I quite enjoyed that. Jack Sparrow's sarcastic and whimsical humour is back and it amused me quite a bit. I read somewhere that POTC4 is rated PG13 because of mild sexual content and innuendo; huzzah, Disney.

The music was pretty good however it was because of the track "He's a Pirate" dating back to the first POTC that won me over. It's just so good a classic and sets the mood for a pirate movie perfectly.

Action scenes are loud and confusing as there are many "team battle" sequences. For me, the action scenes are not really the highlight of the movie. That would likely be the fantasy and supernatural elements they implemented.

All in all this movie is worth the watch if you're a fan of the POTC series or Johnny Depp or there's nothing else to see. It won't exactly wow you but some scenes are fun though.

I give it a 3.5/5 because of the humour and at least it has a bit of impression in my mind rather than the previous movie which escaped my memory completely.

P/S: Stay until after the credits. But let me tell you now not to expect something huge haha.

Thor (Movie) Review

Hey guys!

Yesterday I went to watch a movie with Shin but the coupon we printed out for buy 1 get 1 free tickets didn't apply to Thor so we just paid for it and frankly, it was worth it haha.

Story is of Thor, being an impatient, arrogant warrior and seeking vengeance while defying his father's orders, getting banished to Earth. His powers were stripped off him and a seal put on Mjollnir, Thor's hammer, to only give the powers to the one that is worthy. Thor was to become the king of Asgard, but due to his outcast and his father's falling to illness, his brother Loki takes over.

The movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins. Hemsworth is just delicious in the movie, I'm not gonna lie :P The acting was pretty good giving it a very Norse "accent" in the voices and tones I guess. I'm a sucker for Norse mythology so this is somehow just my kind of story. Music accompaniment was pretty good as well.

The best parts of the movie involved action and a bit of comedy. The visual effects were awesome and there weren't much if any "dry" parts of the movie. Every scene has a purpose to it so it doesn't feel draggy.

All in all, if you're a fan of Thor, it is a must watch without saying, but even if you're not, I'd recommend this movie to all! It's pretty good and I thoroughly enjoyed it and it's been a while since a movie gave me the same feeling, the last was James Cameron's Avatar.

This is a 5/5 in my book, go and have a look!

And by the by, do stay till after the credits for an extra scene :P It may not be much but it is something nice haha

League of Legends Quick Review

In relation to my uni work, I have one essay to go! Woo hoo! But it's being a pain in the ass to start off just like the first one :(

Enough of that, today I wanna post about this game I've been playing. Those of you who've played DoTA should know of it. League of Legends, in short LoL xD. This is an MMO game released by Riot Games and is developed by the people who actually developed DoTA! Here're two videos to start it off :P

The gameplay mechanics is almost the same as DoTA but there are differences such as skills are put in the QWER keys for the first to ultimate skills as well as an added area of effect "ghost" cursor so you can see where some skills land as well as their range. The thing that trumps DoTA is being able to reconnect if you happen to disconnect in game, pretty sweet stuff. There are also tall grass which allows you to catch Pokemon hide in order to make ganking more strategy based I think.

There's also a "summoner" (which is the player) levelling system which allows the game to match you to people who are in your league rather than match you with pros who rape you within 30 seconds the game starts (though it isn't foolproof and it has happened). There is the classic 5v5 games as well as a smaller scale 3v3 game to suit your time.

The downside of the game is that you need to "buy" the heroes you want to use though the game cycles a handful of free heroes to use every week; which is a good thing cos I have no idea what heroes are good to use until I tried them out myself. But the more you play (and win) the more in-game currency you get. The game is free to play so that means they make money off rich people that buy their cash points to unlock stuff without much work. And as with all MMOs there are the noobs who complain a lot and report you for no apparent reason.

I've got a friend who wasn't that into it and he says it's probably the colours of the game. If you jump into it thinking of a dark-DoTA-esque look, you'd be disappointed as the colours are more warm and vibrant even on the "Scourge" side.

However, all-in-all LoL is a pretty solid game though stability has been a bit of a problem a week or two ago. I give LoL a 4/5, it's not perfect but it's good :D

Hop (Movie) Review

Hey guys,

Yesterday I went to watch Hop with Shin and will give you my quick 2 cents on it.

Synopsis: For ages the legacy of the Easter Bunny have lived on. Every year on Easter's day, he will visit the world spreading candies and nicely painted eggs. But will this age-old legacy end with EB who wants to be a drummer instead? He sets off to Hollywood to realise his dreams after his father crushes it. He meets Fred O'Hare who is just getting back on his feet and the escapades begin!

First and foremost, the names of the characters are unimaginative, I mean like, come on, EB? Easter Bunny? and O'Hare -___-

The movie features the voice of Russell Brand as EB (and even a cameo from himself), James Marsden as Fred O'Hare and Big Bang Theory's Penny, Kaley Cuoco as Fred's sister, Sam O'Hare. The movie even has a cameo from David Hasselhoff.

Storywise, it is just a Christmas Story repainted for Easter. There're flying Sleighs pulled by a flock of chicks, candy factory, the one-day time limit, and so on. Basically I'm unimpressed with the story and less could be said about the plot. Though it encompass two main characters whose fates intertwine, it is as flimsy as a straight men only naked beach party.

Fred is a lazy, no prospects character in the beginning who the only one who can relate with is probably a 30-year old WoW player living in his parents' basement. EB is a great drummer who his father forbids from going full time because he is to become the next Easter Bunny. He goes to Hollywood, meets Fred, meets Hasselhoff, gets chased by the "Pink Berets" (the Easter Bunny's elite guards) and in the end goes back to Easter Island to put things right.

The music in the movie was pretty enjoyable, because they were some pretty famous songs.

All in all I wouldn't recommend this movie unless you are watching it with a child, the kids seemed to enjoy it lol. There's just nothing to wow you; I expected better from the creators of Despicable Me; they shoulda just stuck with full animated movie rather than a cross over like in Alvin and the Chipmunks (which the director....directed).

I give this movie a 2/5 because it is lacking in so many ways. My favourite part was where EB poops jellybeans, enough said.

Okamiden (NDS) Review

Hey guys!

Finally another game review and this time it's Okamiden! I just finished it today and thought I might as well review it. This game is a continuation from the PS2 and Wii release called Okami. For those of you who've never played Okami or at least not know the story in it, then sad to say, many things will be new or lost to you.

First thing's first, I'll just recap what happened in Okami:

The world of Nippon is covered by darkness because of the return of the evil 8-headed serpent named Orochi. The Goddess of the Sun by the name of Amaterasu resurrects to bring peace back to the land with the help of Issun, her partner and voice (cos like, she's a wolf). As the Goddess of the Sun, Amaterasu ("Ammy" as Issun calls her) has the power of the Celestial Brush, a powerful tool to remove obstacles and achieve things only a god or goddess can do. Examples of this include cutting down large rocks in one swipe, restoring items to their original quality, command the elements of fire, wind and water, cause a sunrise, cause a sunset, etc.

They travel the land to help those affected by the darkness and in this process, meet people as well as unlocking more and more of Ammy's full potential of the Celestial Brush. That is not all of her prowess! On her back she carries a weapon called a Divine Instrument beginning with a mirror but as she travels she finds a sword as well as a whip. All of them can be made more powerful. Areas Ammy visits that are cursed can be restored with a stroke of a brush but only in the presence of a Cherry tree which can repel the curse and cleanse the land. This is called a Divine Intervention.

I thoroughly enjoyed Okami for the plot twists and amusing and fun side missions. If you still have a working PS2 or something, go play Okami before going on to Okamiden.

NOTE! DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU WANT TO AVOID SOME, IF ANY, SPOILERS!!!

In Okamiden you play as the son of Amaterasu, cutely named Chibiterasu. As you would expect, the Child of the Sun possesses some of his mother's talents using the Celestial Brush and Divine Instrument. Nine months after Ammy saved the land, darkness comes back and Chibi needs to find the cause but he can't do it without a partner like his mom had. After finding a partner, they set off to right the wrongs.

Graphics-wise this game is very eye-pleasing and well done; especially taking into account this is the NDS. You have vast areas to run around and explore for loot, cursed areas look unwelcoming and dark and the Divine Intervention sequences are brilliant! It feels great to see a dark gloomy area converted to a bright, peaceful place.

In normal gameplay, your bottom screen will be for maps and hotkeys. In battle, your bottom screen will be for hotkeys and shows your enemy's life bar.

By pressing the L or R button, you enter the Brush mode, allowing you to use the touchpad to do brush strokes. I'm quite happy with this feature especially when I can draw amusing faces on pieces of paper which they use as a mask haha. My only quarrel is you obviously have to keep the pen down the whole way, and I tend to have stutters and this gives you nothing. Nonetheless I do enjoy playing with brush works.

Drawing a circle on a sakura tree will make blossoms come out, not only will it look better, it also earns you "Praise" which is basically the experience points in the game. However you only level up your HP and Ink pots. Then you must be wondering, "since I can just do random nice things to level up, what's the point of looking for baddies to whallop?" Well the demons drop money as well as, with the right circumstances, materials needed to upgrade your Divine Instruments.

As you go through the game, you'll encounter constellations, which when traced, will reveal to you masters of the brush to give you new brush skills. But since you're using the Pup of Ammy, your "masters" will be their respective offspring.

And they are really cute little critters!

Other than this, gameplay starts out feeling like an errand run but picks up once you can do cooler stuff with your brush. And play doesn't get boring because you will get more than one partners, each with a special ability and thus not allowing you to get bored that fast.

You also have to solve puzzles with your partners' abilities. And I have to mention some brush techniques are changed from the ones in Okami. Among them is the "Guidance" technique which you use to guide your partners to parts of the area you both can't go to at the same time.

There is a little side quest where you look for people from around Nippon to see if anyone is interested in living in a new village called Yakushi. It is kind of nice to see the village slowly shape and transform from an empty lot to an semi-empty lot lol.

The music in Okamiden is awesome too. It stays true to Okami's japanese style music and it doesn't get boring that fast I think.

Battles get old pretty fast if you are just aimlessly looking for demons to kill. But given a proper.... incentive to work for (like they're blocking the door to the toilet or treasure chest), you'll find it's quite fun to slay them. The battles play out pretty fast and is based on a you-know-what-you're-doing-and-when-to-do-it style. And as I mentioned if you know how to "cleanse" the demon, it'll drop materials for upgrading your weapons later on.

Story is top-notch! It picks up as you go along but I seriously recommend playing it just for the story. Humour is also abundant especially the character interactions are very amusing, like each partner you find will give Chibi a name shocking him and making him grief if only for a while. The game DOES refer a lot to Okami so if you didn't play it, you won't get about a quarter to a half of the story. There's even time travel but that's all you'll get out of me. But I'll just say these parts are pretty epic.

Finally
I give it a 5 / 5 because I totally love the storyline and humour. If you are a fan of Okami, then this game is just MADE for you! (literally)

Overall this game is not stressful and it won't test your limits (at least not mine) with satisfying story and gameplay.

Oh and by the by, there's a save game plus type save file after the credits. You get to retain your HP and ink levels as well as unlocking some nice goodies.

The King's Speech Review

Hey guys!

Just watched The King's Speech with Shin and my sis and here's a quick review of it. This movie is something I have heard highly of from friends who've seen it but I was sceptical on whether it was purely good or it was just based on preference; I thought "How can a speech be all that interesting?". However, I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I know I'm a bit late for the review but I hope to coax others who have yet watched it to catch it when they can.

Synopsis: The King's Speech is a movie about Prince Albert, Duke of York, later to become King George VI of England, and is portrayed by Colin Firth. The Prince, wanting to overcome his stammer, consulted Lionel Logue, a speech therapist played by Geoffrey Rush, for help. The story's core is basically the stammer from which Prince Albert is unable to make a good conversation let alone a nationwide speech.

Colin Firth's acting in this movie is so unbelievable and so well done that it is hard for me to find the words to describe it. The overall acting in this movie is brilliant! Their talking and gestures makes it seem as if you are just looking through a window as you witness and learn more about each character.

Music accompanying scenes really set the mood and there is nothing noteworthy about it other than that fact.

Humour plays a part if not a big one in this movie. Snide remarks and amusing situations amongst others make it light hearted at some parts while still being relatively serious. I did love one part with massive swearing but I'll leave you to see for yourselves on that one haha.

Scenes move as if with the emotions of the audience, it doesn't let the feeling built up to hang and get lost but carry on to shape that feeling into a different one, may it be good or bad. There was one scene where after ascending as King, Albert returns to his family with arms wide open to his daughters for a hug only to see they curtsey before him and called him "Your Majesty". That was quite a sad moment for me :(

All that said, I definitely give this movie a 5/5 and I am not surprised The King's Speech had won so many awards! A must watch but I should say, it is not for kids not because of the swearing but simply I guess they'd probably have no interest but hey, I may be wrong.

L'OREAL Indestructible Sculpting Wax Review

 Hey guys,

I got a haircut recently and the stylist taught me how to style my hair with a bit of wax. So I went out and bought myself a hair wax and just wanna let you know how it is. First of all, it looks like this:

At first glance, it's nothing special and this is one of those times which you should trust your first glance.

As usual when you see it, you'll open it and what you see is.... similar to a candle-wax. Seriously, it is the hardest wax I have ever encountered. Other than that, usability is normal I guess? Just rub it in your hands and then apply.

Now the worst part! See the name? See how it says "Indestructible" ? Believe it! The damn wax stuck onto my hair for 3 days straight including day of application. Each day I tried to shampoo twice and first day it felt as if there had been no effect. Second day it felt as if 25-50% of it is gone and finally I've rid myself of this wax.

I've also gotten a refund off it, which I am happy about.
All in all, I want to say that this sculpting wax is HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!

On a side note, I've bought a new product which is significantly better which I will be reviewing after a few more uses lol.

SD Gundam G Generation World Review

Heeeey all!

Sorry for the lack of posts for the past week or so.. Last week I went to Norwich which was fun! But caught a flu and now am at the final phase of recovery. During the week though, I've been busy with some uni stuff but mostly with this game! I was camping it ever since I posted about it. And sure enough, on the 24th February 2011, it was released and Hallelujah! Gundam madness!

Anyways today I'm gonna do a sort of quick review for those of you who are on the fence about it. First of all, it is in JAPANESE only. That's right, the Generation series have never been translated and ported into the west. I find that quite sad as the series is a pretty solid title.

Secondly, it is a TACTICS game so you're not actually piloting one mobile suit (MS) and killing oodles of enemies, we've got Dynasty Warriors Gundam for that lol.

The gameplay for the Generation series is basically, move unit closer to enemy on a grid like format, you can end turn there or attack (obvious much). There are different types of attack with different ranges; melee with the beam saber obviously requires you to face the enemy head on, but there are exceptions such as God Gundam who is mostly melee based can do some in 2 squares. Anyways it's better you experience the map and battle yourself as one press of a button will let you know more than some boring text lol.

On the grid, there's nothing really special though I was surprised how big some of the Gundam were. Speaking of Gundam, the name Generation should hint that you'll get to play MS from all the universe up til currently. The game includes recent Gundam like the 00 Quanta and Unicorn! And where are MS there are pilots, and I have to say, I can't recognise at least half of them as they include the crew from warships (WS) as well.

Every map has a condition e.g. Destroy Char with Amuro. and if you satisfy this condition, a Generation Break occurs. Basically this causes more enemies to spawn but they're from different universes each break and there are 2 breaks per map. And there's a challenge for the condition i.e. "Can you defeat Char using Amuro in 1 turn?" and if you do this, a secret MS will pop out for you to earn extra points.

As you destroy the enemy MS, your pilots gain ACE points and experience and so does your MS. As your pilot levels up, they get increased stats but when your MS levels, you gain skill points to allocate on the spot to attack, defence or movement. At a certain level (normally 3 - 5) your MS is able to proceed on to it's next tech tree form. For example Exia (Basic) > Exia > 00 Gundam. I've personally maxed Exia's tree and I have to say, it is imba beyond all reason.

You can hear music from the generations, I've only remembered SEED and 00 tunes lol. And graphics wise... Well, lets just say it's jizz in your pants material! You can turn on cinematics when attacking or getting attacked. It is very satisfying to see your hits land on the enemy as well as dodging what seems to be an impossible situation (like massive beams hitting and causing an explosion but you're unscratched)

It is also the little things that make Generation World a treat. When you destroy a certain amount of enemies and/or dodge their attacks, your "Tension" increases and at a certain level, you become High Tension. At this point some MS change form and/or get a very powerful attack (Like Unicorn Gundam becomes Destroy mode at High Tension), you also see changes in the Pilots, Setsuna gets his Innovator eyes and Kira goes into SEED mode with clouded eyes; oh and all your attacks become criticals. If you destroy one more unit at High Tension you go into Critical Tension where all your attacks become Super Criticals! I'll say if you reach this point, you're probably gonna destroy everything if your energy and steps hold out.

I give this game a 4.5/5, I love it to bits, but there are some parts I don't really fancy such as some animations where you see a direct piercing attack into the cockpit would normally kill someone, just sends his HP down by half. I know it's nitpicking but I would've like it better if it the damages were more solid.

Tinseltown Quick Review

Hey guys!

This one's been sitting in my folder quite a while so I thought I might as well do a quick post. It was waaaaaaaaaay back on the day we went to see the Chinese New Year thing at Trafalgar Square. But before that Shin, my sis and I went to Queensway to have lunch at Tinseltown.

I've been hearing my sis give good comments about it and that was a good day to try it. First of all, the photo decor here is solely based on big names like Will Smith and other stars. Secondly their milkshake is supposedly awesome.

Here's what I had, don't remember the name but it was expensive! It had Smarties and chocolate and is very chocolatey. One complaint though, they used ice cream to make it but it wasn't COLD.

 Here's what Shin and my sis had. Forgot the names too but I think the one on the left is the Oreo one.

 Buffalo wings. It's so-so, just what you'd expect I guess. Nothing special.

2 orders of peri-peri lamb! Well they call it piri-piri but what the heck, potayto, potahto. The lamb were pretty good, I enjoyed them but there were some undercooked ones which is strange considering they should cook ALL at once and their sizes are relatively the same.

Overall the experience was pretty meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh. In the end we had to ask 3 times at least for just some water and they brought it in a jug. How effing lazy and retarded is that!?

Tinseltown gets one lamb buttcrack out of 5.
