Hey guys,
Just saw Megamind 3D an hour ago or so and I'll fill you guys in on it.
This animated movie from Dreamworks is really good! Awesome and funny to say the least. You follow Megamind's telling of his life story as it flashed before his eyes. Megamind is a blue skinned big-headed (literally) misunderstood guy who was an outcast since young and is the arch nemesis of the hero, Metroman. He also has big round green eyes which I find quite nice (and adorable at times) to stare at ahaha.
Storytelling is pretty good! It defines (and uses) the line "don't judge a book by its cover". Everything is not as it seems and the story plays out pretty well and evenly. Did I mention it is very funny? There are a lot of funny scenes in this movie and even a parody on Obama's poster.
Voice acting is top notch starring Will Ferrell as Megamind, Tina Fey as Roxanne and *drumroll* Brad Pitt as Metroman! The VA makes the scenes and characters believable and nicely show the emotions in their tones. Music is also pretty good in setting the mood.
Graphics-wise, I recommend catching this movie in 3D! In 3D it felt really... Real! Effects of small objects flying to the screen (like rain or popcorn) made you feel as if you were there in that world. The animation is just... Wow. Words can't express what I saw so you should see it for yourselves!
I give this movie a 4 out of 5. A definite must see if you like animation and comedy especially subtle hints! Do go catch it in 3D because you won't regret it! I personally don't mind watching it again if the price here at Odeon wasn't so god-awful-money-sucking expensive.
