Belgium Trip 2011 - Day 1

Hey ya guys!

If you guys remembered from one of my previous posts, I went to Belgium early April and now for the next few posts will be the sights and... more sights of Brussels and Bruges!

This is from day 1 when we arrived in Brussels. The Belgians speak a mix of French and Dutch so either way we still need to ask them if they spoke English but usually they did that without asking lol. Anyways the image up top is the Atomium tourist trap, from the outside it is pretty impressive, from the top too, but other than that it's not so hot :X.

Be warned though the next few posts will be pretty image heavy!

Tickets to see the Mini Europe and the Atomium
Dunno what building this is but I thought it was a good shot xD
This is the whole of Mini Europe!
This is one of the giant metal balls seen from the highest metal ball lol.
This funky sci-fi type escalator takes us to this dark room area with the planets and stuff.
One of the "light walls" or the only significant one lol. Spot some amusing things on it :P
Dark Vadorus :O Never knew there's a constalation like that!
 Lawls Pew Pew
Metal balls seen from the ground :P Incidentally, the metal balls represent Carbon atoms in a lattice conformation.
And what's Belgium without its famous trap: chocolate! Here's the Atomium and Manneken Pis (The pissing boy) made of chocolate.
Fancy fruits coated with your choice of chocolate? No problem!
 Candy galore and Mickey!?
Think they'll pour chocolate over these as well I don't remember lol
After visiting Mini Europe (will post that later), We went and explored a bit. This is one of the fabulous buildings you see in travel guides. It's at the Grand-Place which is basically a giant square where they put flowers during certain seasons, not when we're there though :<
The place at night, it looks better in person I assure you.
We walked by a place I didn't see what it was but I thought the crusader decor was ace :P
Aaaaaaaaaaand this is the famous Manneken Pis. Honestly, I thought the same as most people. Which is "That's it?" It's just that, a boy pissing and it's like a symbol for Belgium. Well even the Belgians think it's a bit silly but the cool thing is, the statue has over 800 clothing!

A fella will change it's clothes to fit certain occasions or just for fun. Sadly we didn't go to the museum where they store it which I think would've been better than going to the comic strip museum where we didn't understand what the exhibits were saying lolol.

Will post the continuation of Day 1 (or rather the missing piece) in the next post!

Come back soon!
