Belgium Trip 2011 - Day 2

Hey guys!

Continuing where I left off, Day 2 was a day of touristy stuff i.e. visiting more tourist traps and taking photos. And it was the day we spent oodles of money on food, ranging from Belgian waffles to pasta to deserts to seafood platter!

We went around town again and to the comic strip museum; wasn't that interesting apart from some famous characters such as Tintin and stuff were there. Then we went around looking at sceneries. It was raining that day, so I didn't really have the mood to take lots of pictures as it was windy and cold :(

 Mmmm waffles <3
 Random buildings
 Tintin and what'shisface
 Race track starting/ending here?
This long arcade made my camera go into a spasm for some reason, it just went nuts in a fit!
 Seafood spagetti
 Seafood tagliatelle
This is the exit/entrance to the seafood restaurant area. Seriously, if you so much as make eye contact with any waiter or attendant outside, they'll try to pull you into their place. My sis got the most amusing offer:
"Free massage?" lololol
 Chocolate stuff
 More chocolates!
 Even more chocolates!
 A macaroon pyramid lol
More waffles! The Belgians seriously are cashing in on their stereotyping
Manneken Pis during the day, seems a bit better lol.
This is a palace of some sort.
To the left (right was the palace thing) was this fence made of vine-y.... thing from tree(?) to tree lol.
The European Parliament building or something, can't remember. When we got off the metro at this place we saw a HUGE red luggage sitting there unattended. First thing that went to mind was "HOLY SHIT WE HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE". Then I tried, with difficulty, to tell the staff that there's an unattended luggage there. :S
Some fancy schmancy monument on the right built by King Leopold II.
The park's called the Parc du Cinquantenaire.
There was a fountain after the arch.
  Then it's dinner time!
Ohhh yeah baby! Seafood platter! I want some more! One of the ways they catch you into their restaurant is by saying "If you join us tonight, we'll give you a free drink!" Basically all of them did that.
Shin bought some macaroons in the afternoon, she's crazy for macaroons :P

That's Day 2!

Will post the final day soon!

Belgium Trip 2011 - Mini Europe

Hey guys!

During Day 1 in Brussels, Belgium, we went to a park area type place called Mini Europe. It features, as you will assume from the name, miniature sized monuments and cities from around Europe. The place was pretty nice and it was a sunny day so I would recommend it if you went to Brussels to visit the place.

I don't really remember where the places are other than the blatantly obvious so won't really caption all the pics :P There's a "podium" type thing with the country's flag and a button to press that plays the national anthem near the miniature place. I found that pretty cool :D
Remember the Grand-Place? This is the miniature version ahah
Notice the flower patch thing in the middle, that's what I was talking about in the previous post.
Shin likes windmills :P There was a big valve thingie which when you turn it, the windmills actually turn, it was pretty nice. A friend went ahead and sort of broke it (or maybe it was a freak accident, we'll never know) and there was a water jet shooting out of a pipe nearby lololol It was pretty amusing seeing him run away from the scene of the crime. It was fixed pretty quickly so I guess this thing happens a lot.
After 4 years in the UK and almost one of it in London, this was the first proper picture I took of Big Ben LOL
The train is actually powered and you can see several move around the place aha
Annnnnnnnnd we went to Paris!... Not; Eiffel tower was still huge even though it's a "miniature"
An airport I think, the one in the background is simulating takeoff haha.
 Giant magpie terrorising some place!
Forgot where this rock place is... But it was pretty interesting to look at lol.
And the rocket, we actually waited a while for it to take off, it didn't and we went on and when we looked back from a hill, it took off with smoke and stuff. Lol I wasn't that disappointed but I felt sorry for my friends who REALLY wanted to see it take off.

That's it for Mini Europe! Next will be Day 2!

Take care guys!
